The latest buzz and excitement in the Indian film industry, particularly Bollywood (Hindi) is all about the marriage of the latest star couple on the block, Abhi-Ash. Abhishek Bachchan is the son of the legendary Big B of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and an actor of the younger brigade, in his own right.
Aishwarya Rai is the former Miss World and one of the most recognised Indian faces, worldwide. She is one of the leading ladies of Bollywood and has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Evidently, this is a true fairy-tale wedding in Bollywood Land, with the most eligible bachelor in Bollywood all set to marry the epitome of Indian beauty worldwide!
They have worked together in a number of movies, before they hit it off, extremely well at that. Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan, Guru are among their films worth mentioning. However, the song, "Kajra Re" from Bunty Aur Babli, starring the couple and Amitabh Bachchan paved way for their romance off-screen!
Initially, however, Cupid did not strike and they both were in individual relationships. Aishwarya was in the much-publicised relationship with Salman Khan, a leading hero and later, with Viveik Oberoi, actor and son of actor Suresh Oberoi. Abhishek was engaged to Karisma Kapoor, the actress from India’s first Bollywood family and also enjoyed an affair with model Dipannita Sharma.
However, all through they remained good friends and with destiny playing Cupid, they have been together ever since. Initially they denied their relationship; however, media speculation was rife. Aishwarya Rai, supposedly is a manglik (relating to the Vedic astrology chart) and therefore, she had to perform certain special sacrifices and rituals before getting all set to tie the nuptial knot. Abhi is about three years younger than Ash, but age isn't a problem.The Bachchan house is all set to welcome their new Indian Beauty Queen bahu! ‘Prateeksha’ which means respect, is the house of the the groom's father and it is getting all decked up to host the wedding on 20 April, 2007.
